"Prophesying"

"Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women I will pour out My Spirit in those days and they will prophesy." Acts 2:17b-18

Sure sounds like everybody is going to have the Holy Spirit poured out on them and prophesy. Peter continues to quote the prophet Joel and he is clear that the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is on every believer.

Prophesying essentially means to tell the truth. The truth about Christ and the gospel of salvation. Every one of us is gifted to be a witness of the truth. Just tell what happened to you when you came to Christ as Savior. If you have nothing to say I seriously encourage you to reconsider the status of your salvation.

The seed of His gospel is planted in every committed follower of Jesus. The Holy Spirit in essence germinated that seed and we are made capable of spreading the good news. The reason we are short on those dreams and visions that Joel spoke of is because we have stifled the Holy Spirit in us. We have muffled our witness and squelched our power.

You and I are empowered, we need to speak up. Every revival has begun by believers talking openly about what they believe. The empowerment of the Holy Spirit is contagious. If you aren't a contagious Christian maybe you should double check to make sure you are infected. If you are, you will prophesy. If you are, you will witness. If you are, you will serve, love, give and promote His Kingdom.

Let's be infectious and contagious. After all it is such good news.

In Him,
Pastor Fred
