“This Man”

"This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing Him to a cross." Acts 2:23

Peter is preaching. He is full of the Holy Spirit and laying down the truth very succinctly and clearly. He isn't railing and he isn't sugar-coating, that is for sure.

'This man' is Jesus their Messiah. This man was God's plan. This man was sent to die for the sins of the whole world. Heavy, heavy truth. Our sin is what crucified Him too. We are corrupted, corruptible and desperately in need of a Savior. God sent His Son, Jesus to pay the perfect sacrificial price for our corporate and individual sin. From before the beginning this plan is and was foreordained. God knew and knows exactly what He is doing. He acts on His plan in total accordance with His faultless character.

Peter holds the Jews accountable along with other wicked men and at the same time will let them know that the very horrific thing they did actually makes their forgiveness possible. Wow, that is Grace exemplified.

This man is my Savior, my Lord, my Hope and my King. Hear Peter speak these indicting words and revisit both your culpability and your deliverance. Praise God for clear truth. Keep reading these devotionals, it just gets better and better.
