“CONVINCING PROOFS” Devotion by Pastor Fred Snider

"After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God." Acts 1:3-4

Phrase by phrase is one good way to discover the deeper and richer meaning of Scripture. When we slow down the words a little, we can harvest more insight from His Word.

1. After His suffering--- on the cross

2. He showed Himself--- chose to reveal

3. to these men--- the Apostles

4. and gave many convincing proofs--- documenting His resurrection

5. that He was alive--- not dead, hiding or gone somewhere else

6. He appeared to them--- so they saw and touched for themselves

7. over a period of 40 days--- 6 1/2 weeks of repeated contact

8. and spoke about--- they heard Him speak

9. the Kingdom of God--- of which He is the only King

For me, when I take the time to meditate on the Word like this it substantiates my faith and deepens my understanding. Hope it inspired you a little today to dig just a little deeper.
