"But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God." Acts 4:19
Seems like a simple enough choice, right? Yet every day we choose man's ways over God's ways. We choose man's wisdom over God's. Man's traditions over God's principles.
The Disciples have been told to stop speaking about Jesus. We don't even need to be told anymore. For the most part we just figure it is not acceptable, unwise, politically incorrect or too forward or bold to talk about God, Jesus or our faith. Maybe it is just awkward, or no big deal or untimely.
The pervasive culture of the present desperately needs to be offset with something else. How about the truth, or love or grace or kindness or mercy? We have something to talk about yet we tend to just repeat what the mouthpieces of this world keep shoveling.
Hey, like the Bible says, judge for yourself whether it is right to obey God and follow Him or follow the world. Join me in at least offering the alternative more often.
In His Service,
Pastor Fred
