"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9

All of us, at some point in our lives, will be faced with rejection. Perhaps it’s that dream job we desired or that prestigious college we wanted to get into. Maybe it’s that guy or gal we fell for who didn’t return our affections. Maybe one of our parents left the situation when we were just a child, and that made us feel rejected. Whatever the cause, it is an awful feeling. Sometimes, we even end up blaming ourselves for the rejection, believing that we are not good enough or that we don’t measure up, or if we could have just done something differently, things would have gone our way.

But thankfully, God sees us much differently than we see ourselves! God has CHOSEN us! He has adopted us into His ROYAL family! We are His SPECIAL POSSESSION! He treasures and cherishes us! He thinks about us more often than there are grains of sand on the earth! That has got to make you feel good!!! And the best news is that there is nothing we have to do to earn God’s acceptance. All we have to do is to respond to His choice, join His family, and testify concerning the One who brought us out of the darkness of rejection, and into the WONDERFUL LIGHT of His love and acceptance!
