"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." 2 Timothy 3:14-15
This is written to Timothy who has a wonderful believing mother and grandmother. Count your blessings if you were raised in a Christian home and count them again if the Bible was taught in that home, then count them again if you were part of a church when you were young that taught His Word from His Word.
We so desperately need to read and study the Bible regularly. What we learn and its substantiation are so directly tied to a clear doctrinal understanding of what The Word reveals. Please differentiate between learning biblical doctrine from being indoctrinated. We are hungry because we do not get spiritual food. We are thirsty because we do not drink Living water. We are immature because we do not grow in our comprehension of His Word. Our enemy thrives on and feeds our ignorance. If any of you lacks wisdom, ask God, Proverbs would tell us. God tells us to earnestly seek Him and His Word. After salvation, the growing in wisdom continues for a lifetime.
Read a few more verses today and understand them. If you did so each day, in just a year you would have read a thousand verses or more.
