"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" Psalms 119:105
We are often looking for something and can’t seem to find it. Sometimes that something is the keys, or cell phone, or a note we left somewhere. (Everything has to be somewhere, right?) We all have experiences to tell about what we misplaced or lost or how it gets found. What about those “intangible” things we are looking for: love, peace, security, etc. How do we find those? The Psalms have answers, and I pass on to you a list of intangible reasons to read Psalms.
This is not a comprehensive list, just one to guide you towards some answers. When you need to, then read this: To find comfort-Psalms 23, To meet God intimately-Psalms 103, To learn a new prayer-Psalms 136, To learn a new song-Psalms 92, To learn more about God-Psalms 24, To understand yourself more clearly-Psalms 8, To know how to come to God each day-Psalms 5, To be forgiven of your sins-Psalms 51, To feel worthwhile-Psalms 139, To understand why to read the Bible-Psalms 119, To give praise to God-Psalms 145, To know that God is in control-Psalms 146, To give thanks to God-Psalms 136, To please God-Psalms 15, To know why we worship God-Psalms 104. Hope this list is enlightening!
In Him, Pastor Fred
