Victory in Jesus

Our Friday Devotion comes to us from Council Member, Alan:
"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." 1 John 5:4

I like the word VICTORY and the strong feelings of elation that accompany it. Originally applied to warfare, Webster defines Victory as 'the overcoming of an enemy or antagonist'. That definition seems to fit when we think about the real spiritual warfare and enemy we face everyday.

I pray that each one of you are able to achieve lasting Victory. Victory over the enemy. Victory against worldly sin. Victory over death. Victory in spite of all the difficulties in our path...especially ourselves. Because we can never be truly Victorious through our own achievements. "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57

Victory is ours to receive! "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths" Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

Laboring in the Lord,
Alan
