“So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord or ashamed of me as a prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.” 2 Timothy 1:8
“So” begs the question what. So what? Let me answer with some “since” responses.
• Since He put the fire in you.• Since He hung and died and bore our shame.
• Since we can witness in prison or out
• Since He will give us the self-discipline to testify.
• Since we are not alone in doing this.• Since He suffered far more than we ever will.
• Since our Lord has already won the victory.
We have no excuse. Even your shame, weakness and bad example do not preclude you from testifying. You are gonna have a testimony, one way or another, so might as well surrender to Him and let Him use you whether you are weak or strong, powerful or drained, “together” or falling apart. He is even strong through us, in our weakness. Just speak the truth from humility through grace.
May God use your testimony today.
