"He Will Remain Faithful" by Elisa Miller is the eleventh in a series of devotionals by the 2012 Grace Harbor Colombia Mission Team. Elisa blesses us with wise words about our always faithful Father.
"Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we disown Him, He will also disown us; if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for he cannot disown Himself." 2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NIV)
I came across this bible verse in my daily desk calender that was given to me as a gift over a year ago. This year is the second time I am flipping through it and some days the verses stick out & speak to me more that specific day, especially in regards to things I am going through, things that I couldn't recall from the previous year.
What stuck out & spoke to me in this verse was his unconditional love & grace that never waivers. However, there is a hard pill to swallow that comes along with this verse; If we disown Him, He will also disown us. The image that immediately comes to mind is the homeless community at Skid Row, some are lost and scared with feelings of abandonment or disownment, others have little to no hope or faith in God because they are angry with Him. The beauty in that is there is always light at the end of the tunnel which ever direction we are going in & all we have to do is turn around & reach out for him. Even when we are faithLESS, HE WILL REMAIN FAITHFUL ..always! I know at times I have given up or lost hope but during those moments he carried it for me, and when I overcame came those obstacles the reminder was there to never lose hope and always keep the Faith!
