Constantly in Prayer

"They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers." Acts 1:14

At Grace Harbor Church, we from time to time hold a prayer vigil. The 3 primary goals of these events are to: 1. Lift up Grace Harbor Ministries before the Lord for His guidance and blessing. 2. Bind our hearts together in unity to glorify Him. 3. Provide an opportunity for everyone to participate however they can.

These events have been successful, meaningful, and simple. Whether you pray from home, or from far away, or come to church, we try to cover Grace Harbor in prayer for 24 hours. When the early church met in the upper room they all participated. The 11 disciples (Matthias was not chosen yet to replace Judas Iscariot), the women (wives and other followers) and Jesus’ family. (His mother Mary, and His brothers James and Jude, and maybe more.) What a gathering. Would have loved to have been there.

This verse says, there were together joined (in unity) constantly praying. Maybe not all at once, or holding hands in a circle, but someone was praying. I wonder what His mother prayed? Or, James, who wrote the Book of James, or Jude who wrote Jude? Or Peter, or John, or Thomas, or the lesser know disciples? What about the other Mary’s? Must have been many people. A powerful time. Whenever God’s people commit, in unity to do something, God responds and moves on their behalf and for His glory. We earnestly desire to promote His purposes with our hearts unified in prayer. Setting aside all else and focusing on seeking His will and praising Him.

What was crucial 2,000 years ago is still crucial today. We want what the early the early church experienced, the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray you will pray with us in unity from noon Palm Saturday til noon Palm Sunday. Let us join our hearts together in prayer about what God wants for Grace Harbor.

Prayerfully Yours,
Pastor Fred
