Believe in the Lord

"Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their numbers." Acts 5:14

As is the case with the word ‘therefore’, the word nevertheless deserves explanation at the beginning of the sentence. So not only would I answer what the therefore is therefore, nevertheless, I will also explain. Prior to the verse there are many healings, miracles of every description and powerful happenings and though the early church was highly regarded they were also a bit feared, in a respected way. Even though folks were a little leery and cautious of the spiritual power manifested in the early church there were many more coming to Christ and believing on Jesus for salvation.

In a dynamic, spirit filled, powerful church, full of love and hope and grace, like Grace Harbor, the spiritual power at work is both magnetic and mystifying. It is like attraction and a bit unnerving at the same time. This edginess is evidence of His power and His ongoing work. There is no doubt that God is doing something supernatural and very real at the same time in our midst. We don’t make this happen; it is spontaneous, serendipitous and unplanned, but also undeniable, mysterious, and awesome. We see fruit, growth, transformation, and grace illustrated in our worship, message, fellowship, and ministry. All we do is give glory to God, keep the focus on Him and continue faithfully, we are both humbled and inspired by His moving among us, in us and through us. Three encouragements or admonitions I would share.

1.) Do not quench the Spirit 2.) Trust the Lord only 3.) Keep giving Him the glory This is a reason of growth, deeper and wider. We are blessed and glad and grateful. Praise the Lord.

As the Spirit leads,
Pastor Fred
