"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deuteronomy 33:27
Romans 8:39 "Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
These verses were the texts of a recent devotional that was shared at our weekly morning prayer-time for Grace Harbor staff. I wanted to pass this paragraph on to you because it so aptly expresses God's heart towards us.
"I want you to be all Mine. I am weaning you from other dependencies. Your security rests in Me alone--not in other people, not in circumstances. Depending only on Me may feel like walking on a tightrope, but there is a safety net underneath: the everlasting arms. So don't be afraid of falling. Instead, look ahead to Me. I am always before you, beckoning you on--one step at a time. neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation can separate you from My love."
Can you hear God speaking to you from His Word? You can if you take it personally. He is speaking to you and me in every word that is written. He indeed wants our undivided attention. He cares deeply and from beginning to end has our best interest in mind. He has a plan and is carrying it out in the grand scheme and in each person's life. We must trust in order to exercise our faith. Our faith will grow stronger if we lean on Him. Today, whatever circumstances you are facing, do not take matters into your own hands. Let Him hand you things, with His hands under yours. Nothing this world can bring can separate His hands from you. We all can trust Him more. But, we must let go in order to do that. We must step back in order to do that. We must be quiet in order to do that. We must allow Him to be our refuge. Run to Him today and crawl up in His arms. Rest in Him. Give Him everything that is in your mind and on your heart. You will need to do that over and over again. I do. So grateful for a God who wants me to be all His. And I am.
Leaning on His everlasting arms,
Pastor Fred
