9-11 Has Come and Gone-Now What?

"if My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

Well, this past Sunday has come and gone, and my question is, will we truly remember 9-11? Yes, we remember the horrific tragedy that transpired, and all the senseless lives that were lost. We can even remember in great detail exactly where we were and what we were doing. Every imaginable smell, sound, sight, taste that was active at that moment, we can relive. But we have forgotten, how Congress came united as one in front of the White House lifting their prayers to God, or how everyone was turning to their local churches for help, prayer and support. Completely humbling ourselves to God, pleading and seeking His divine help and intervention. But now 10 years later, we have totally forgotten.

In fact at Ground Zero they didn't invite clergy to come and lift up prayers on behalf of our nation. God was totally and completely out of the equation. We have become complacent and lazy. We have lost the urgency of seeing and believing that now more than ever we need JESUS!

Today's passage of scripture is a promise from God. It's a passage that gives us straight and simple directions of what we need to do, if we want God to pour out His Spirit on our Nation. It will bring about an out pouring of His Spirit that would be as awesome as the outpouring we read about in the book of Acts. We all have to admit, that now more than ever we need God's Spirit to bring healing, deliverance, peace, joy, love and hope. Once again, God uses His famous "If-Then" statements.

God tells us, if we humble ourselves, seek him, pray and most importantly turn from our wicked ways, then God promises He will hear our prayers, forgive our sins and He then will heal our land.

How amazingly simple and yet how amazingly powerful! My brothers and sisters, I urge you-let us never forget how for that very brief moment after the Towers fell, we as Americans fell to our knees crying out to God... but sadly we've forgotten that feeling of needing God, and we've become complacent and comfortable again. Let's fall to our knees again and let's cry out as a Nation united as one, so that We can see and experience God's Spirit moving in our nation once again.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

  2. Amen! If you get too caught up in the world you will surely be distracted from knowing the truth. I (We) need God! You cannot rely solely on your own ability, knowledge, money, influence, etc.

Gen. Patton once said, "...between the plan and the operation there is always an unknown. That unknown spells defeat or victory, success or failure. It is the reaction of the actors to the ordeal when it actually comes. Some people call that getting the breaks; I call it God. God has His part, or margin in everything, That's where prayer comes in."
