God Declares

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Over the past two months, I have had the privilege as a father to listen to my daughter Emily’s hopes and dreams for the future. You see, Emily has just graduated from high school and started college.

It has been a memorable experience to sit and listen to her plans, hopes and dreams for her future and that of her most awesome boyfriend, Andrew. What has been a blessing to me is seeing the confidence and the boldness she has about making her hopes and dreams become a reality because she knows in her heart of hearts that Jesus will be with her for every step of this exciting journey.

As Christians, it is so empowering to know that Our Father has a game plan for us and our lives. Like all fathers, He wants the very best for our lives and us. What is so encouraging is that as He speaks of His plans for us he uses the word “DECLARES.” Throughout the Bible, whenever God uses this word, whatever He was speaking of has happened. It became real and came into existence.

This is exciting, because in this mornings passage of scripture, He uses this in conjunction with the “PLANS” He has for our lives. Did you notice that when He refers to our lives and the plans He has for it, that he “DECLARES” our lives will be prosperous, and full of hope, we will not experience any harm, and most important we will have a future. Please note that this passage of scripture was written as words of encouragement to the Israelites after a period of being in exile, where they felt and believed that they had no future. However, you and I are blessed to know that no matter how bleak things may look, we will always have a future because God DECLARED it as being so.

Well my brothers and sisters do not be dismayed of what you see and hear that is going on in the world. Instead, take comfort in knowing that your Father in Heaven, the Alpha and Omega, has declared that the plans He has for you will totally rock and totally bless the socks off you! :o)

Blessed by His plans for my life,
Pastor Rick

  1. What a healthy serving of encouragement this is! This is one of my favorite scriptures and I love the reminder that His plans are good. I can't wait to see how His for me unfold. Thank you for today's message!
