Proverbs for Youth (Part 4)

We continue with Solomon’s writings directed at youth. For any of us that did not get these teachings when we were young, we still can learn them before our poor choices teach us the hard way.

  1. Fear the commandments. (Pro. 13:13)
  2. Beware of backsliding. (Pro. 14:14)
  3. Despise not your mother when she is old. (Pro. 15:20)
  4. The Lord will make your enemies live with you in peace. (Pro. 16:7)
  5. Be careful or you can lose your inheritance to a servant. (Pro. 17:2)
  6. Remember that fathers are the glory of their children. (Pro. 17:6)
  7. Do not spread rumor (Pro. 18:8)
  8. Do not forget that houses and riches are the inheritance from fathers (Pro. 19:14)
  9. Keep the commandments. (Pro. 19:16)
  10. Do not chase your mother away. (Pro. 19:26)
Sometimes proverbial wisdom is practical; sometimes it is complicated and often simple. We should do right always and admit when we don’t. Again, my prayer is that the Spirit will instruct us spirit to spirit, regardless of our age or maturity.
Learning with you,
Pastor Fred
