Our Monday Devotion comes to us from, Pastor Rick Ballester:

"... For I have chosen you and will not throw you away. Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." Isaiah 41:9-10

There are times in our lives when things just seem so overwhelming. Whether its finances and trying to figure out whether to pay your cell phone bill or buy food for the family. On the other hand, it could be career challenges where your company is not doing well and there are talks of layoffs, pay cuts or mandatory days off without pay.

Or, how about health issues? You know the ones that sneak up on you and the doctor’s begin to paint a bleak picture for your future? I know you think, “Wow, how depressing.” Yes, it could be but with Jesus it’s just a bump in the road along the route we call, “Life.” In today’s passage, we can gain hope and courage in our ability to overcome everything life can throw at us.

As we look at this passage, notice how God says he has chosen us. That is so awesome! Knowing that God, the Creator and Ruler over all things has chosen us to be His! Next, look at the promises He makes to us. Using His “I will” statements, He promises to help us, to strengthen us and to uphold us! How cool is it to know that when we are facing the challenges of life that God is there every step of the way giving us the strength, the help and holding us up when we don’t feel like we can go on.

So, whenever you’re faced with the many challenges of life, knowing that you have the courage, the strength, and the confidence to overcome them because God has told us that He is our God and He will give us the victory over anything and everything that may come against us.
