"My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled." Psalm 17:5TNIV
Tonight, while watching television, an ad for the new season of Necessary Roughness was shown. In the commercial, the lead character, who is a therapist, tells her patient, " The minefields in life never go away- we just get better at navigating them." As I listened to that statement, I couldn't help but think how true it was.
Throughout our lives there are various situations that we come across which are hazardous to us. These situations are something that we wrestle with on a daily basis or maybe one that sneaks up and totally knocks us to our knees. And it's true, these "minefields" are still out there today, waiting for us to put our guard down and then we will walk right into the "minefield" and then we're in trouble. Just as you can't see a "minefield" neither can you see the situations coming at you. In the military, when soldiers got trapped in the minefield, a soldier would find a path and he would lead his team out. He would guide and direct their steps to safety.
We as Christians have Jesus to guide and direct our steps through the minefields of our lives. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:9 that we plan our own course in life, but Jesus establishes our steps. He shows us exactly where to step and walk. Then we are told in Proverbs 4:12 if we trust Jesus and let Him guide our steps, that when we walk through these minefields, our steps will not be hampered and if we chose to run through them we won't stumble and fall. How awesome is that to know by allowing Jesus to direct our steps we won't stumble when we are hit with situations that we struggle and wrestle with. If we truly submit ourselves to Jesus and we truly allow Him to guide and direct us through these "minefields," then we can truly say like in Psalm 17:5 I have held to your paths and my feet have not stumbled.
Please know that we will always have minefields coming at us. However, if we allow Jesus, to be our soldier to lead and direct our steps thru it, we will walk in certain victory.
Be Blessed this Day! Brother Rick Ballester
