Be Assured that there is Only One Way to God!

"Jesus said: 'I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. NO MAN can come to the Father except through ME.'" John 14:6

God’s Word is very clear as to how many roads lead to God… only ONE. And that ONE is His dearly beloved only Son, Jesus Christ. Isn’t it assuring that you don’t have to worry about such things? God made it simple and He made it abundantly clear over and over again that there was only one way to be reconciled with Him, only one sacrifice that was pure enough and perfect enough to pay the penalty for the sins of the world. By putting your full confidence, trust and faith in the name and redeeming work of Jesus Christ, you can have complete peace and know that you are saved!

Can I get a HALLELUIAH from someone out there?

A dear friend of mine recently sent me devotion from Pastor Greg Laurie based on Hebrews 2:9, and his words hit the target dead center in terms of these silly bumper stickers I see all the time, you know the ones, they have all the religious symbols of the world religions, and they visually spell “C O E X I S T” with the “Cross” as the “T”… as if to say “shouldn’t we all just get along because after all, don’t ALL roads lead to God???” Please understand that there is nothing wrong with “co-existing” with others who believe differently than we do as followers of Jesus Christ, we should always strive to be Light and bring the Truth to those around us who do not have it…. but do not be lulled into accepting the underlying message that this bumper sticker is REALLY trying to preach and that is universal salvation through all belief systems of the world. I know that when I see them, they turn my stomach, and when I read Pastor Greg’s comments about them, I couldn’t help but want to shout AMEN! I feel compelled to pass Greg’s comments along to our Grace Harbor Devotion group, and I want to encourage you to pray each time you see those bumper stickers out there, that GOD would show that person the truth about the ONE WAY to Him through His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ!

"People like to assert that all religions are true and that Jesus is one of many ways that lead to God. They usually have a bumper sticker that reads, "Coexist" and includes a variety of religious symbols. That is a nice sentiment. And it is nice to say that all religions teach the same thing. But anyone who makes that statement either is lying or is a fool or is simply choosing not to take even a basic look at the religions of the world. All of the religions of the world do not teach the same thing. In fact, it is insulting to God to even suggest this. Do you think that God would have allowed His Son to go through something as horrific as the crucifixion if all roads lead to Him? Otherwise, why would Jesus even have to die? God could have said, "It's all good. Do whatever you want. Believe whatever you want. Everything is cool."

But there was no other way to satisfy the righteous demands of God. That is why Jesus prayed, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will" Matthew 26:39. What is "this cup"? I believe it was the cup of the wrath of God. Isaiah called it the cup of His fury (see Isaiah 51:17, 22). Jesus tasted death for everyone. Hebrews 2:9 says, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone." Jesus had to be the recipient of the wrath of God in our place so that we could be forgiven of our sin. There was no other way."
