"They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day." Acts 4:3
You can't lock up or lockdown the gospel. The truth of God marches on with or without whichever spokespersons. Peter and John were being obedient to their call to proclaim Christ as the Savior.
If I am arrested this week, someone else will bring the message next Sunday. Someday even the "rocks will cry out" the power and majesty of the Lord. There is no stopping His plan til the whole world has heard the good news. We may experience temporary interruptions to the message, but it will never be silenced.
Each new day brings a fresh opportunity to share His love and plan. Jail or arrest cannot even slow that down. Do not be discouraged by setbacks that come in the late afternoon or run through the evening. His mercies are renewed every morning. No matter what happened, to who or when or how or where. There is no stopping His Word. Jail is just another place for ministry. So is court, so is the hospital, so is a long line or a traffic jam or getting lost or being early or late
The apostles probably asked with every turn of events... "I wonder how the Lord will use this?" Should be our question too. Like this devotional.
I wonder,
Pastor Fred
