Are you a True Worshipper?

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." John 4:23

I hope that time has come for you, or at least is soon to come when you could with total honesty say that you worship the Father in spirit and truth. What kind of spirit? A spirit of humility, confidence, and passion. What truth? The truth as only He can reveal it to us. When we face ourselves and get over ourselves and begin to live “in Him” outside ourselves and beyond ourselves, then we begin to experience true worship. The true worship that puts Him first, that would do anything for Him. The kind of worship that is free to exult in Him, and praise Him, and glorify Him. The kind of worship that is servant-hearted, and generous, and willing and totally trusting in Him.

He is seeking true worshipers. Ones that love Him with abandon and who are hungry for His word. Ones that want to tell their story of transformation through Him. Ones that are “sold out” for Jesus. This is the heart of the true worshiper. Ones who worship when they aren't in church, ones that desire to worship and think about Him in everything they do. True followers, disciples and lovers of Christ, who know that He is the most important thing in life, even before life and after life.

When you hear “total commitment” talk like this, how do you feel?
He is seeking true worshipers, not church attendees, not people who are addicted to attending church. He is not looking for Sunday worshipers. He desires us to worship from the inside, out. He wants worshipers who make Him the audience, and not themselves. Not in the future only in heaven, not from time to time, but all the time, and now. He is worthy of that. Take a moment, do it worshipfully if possible and ask Him what kind of a worshiper you are? God, through Jesus, wants an amazing, personal relationship with us that makes worship natural and normal, sincere and spontaneous.

Just writing this is initiating a worshipful attitude in me. So I say, "Praise you Father, I love you Jesus. You are exalted Lord. Glory be to the Creator of the Universe and my Personal Savior. You are everything to me." When I worship Him in spirit and in truth, those are my words. That was so good for me to share with you. I hope as you consider this message that you might be encouraged to have your own personal worship time. Also, I hope to join with you in worship on Sunday together, too.

With His Love and a Humble Heart today,
Pastor Fred
