The fact is, as Scripture says, “the rain falls on the just and the unjust.” True. We live in a broken, sinful and fallen world. Bad things happen to good people. Life can seem unfair. Those facts do not change the truth of God’s blessings on the righteous. When I count my blessings I often consider all the things I have been protected from that I don’t even know. God is with us and for us constantly. He loves us.
1. The righteous are loved. (Proverbs 16:13)
2. It is not good to overthrow the righteous in judgment. (Proverbs 18:5)
3. He is kept safe in the Lord’s strong tower. (Proverbs 18:10)
4. The work of the righteous is right. (Proverbs 21:8)
5. The righteous searches the house of the wicked. (Proverbs 21:12)
If indeed God loves us, and I know He does, He protects us and defends us. But, the free will of others and the work of our enemy can disrupt our daily situations and circumstances. Those disruptions do not change our position or our blessings. We are by nature, complainers and whiners. Nothing is often ever good enough or fair enough for us. We have expectations of living trouble free, even worry free through this life and don’t cope well when our expectations are not fulfilled. Expectations can play havoc on our gratitude and feed our feelings of ingratitude. God is in control. Trust Him. Lean on Him. Seek Him in all things. We are loved.
With His love,
Pastor Fred
