Before we can truly appreciate the blessings of being the righteous, we must understand that we are. We are righteous before God because of Jesus Christ. His righteousness supersedes our righteousness. This means we have access to these blessings, but only when we constantly remind ourselves of our position in Him. Of ourselves, we do not deserve these blessings, but to glorify Him they are imputed to us at the moment of our salvation. Being aware of our righteousness helps us stay focused on who we are in Him.
Here are five more blessings compiled by Florence Brownfield, from her book, The Wisdom of Solomon.
1. His mouth is a well of life. (Proverbs 10:11)
2. His labor leads to life. (Proverbs 10:16)
3. His lips feed many. (Proverbs 10:21)
4. His desires are granted. (Proverbs 10:24)
5. His righteousness is an everlasting foundation. (Proverbs 10:25)
Too easy to point out what unrighteousness does. Do you see it?
1. Unrighteousness speaks "garbage" and "trash talk."
2. Unrighteous work accomplishes nothing.
3. Unrighteousness starves people of what they need.
4. Unrighteousness is unfulfilled.
5. Unrighteousness leaves no legacy.
The blessings of the righteous are beautiful. The curses of unrighteousness are horrible. We must claim our righteousness or we will default to unrighteousness. Don’t miss out on your blessings. Make Him pre-eminent in your life. The devil wants you to be spiritually stuck. The Lord wants to bless you. Be who you are in Christ and be blessed.
In His service,
Pastor Fred
