Worship Him

"And the name of the city from that time will be: THE LORD IS THERE."
"
Ezekiel 48:35b

Ezekiel begins with a description of the holiness of God that Israel despised and ignored. As a result, God’s presence departed from the temple, the city, and the people. Simply put, "THE LORD WAS NOT THERE." Ezekiel ends with a detailed vision of the new temple, the new city, the new people, all demonstrating God’s holiness. The pressures of everyday life can persuade us to focus only on the here at now, and forget God. That is why worship is so important; it takes our eyes off our current worries and gives us a glimpse of God’s holiness and allows us to look toward the future kingdom. God’s presence makes everything glorious, and worship brings us into His presence.

I would always hope that when we gather to worship as the Grace Harbor Body of Christ that "THE LORD IS THERE." Many times I have especially sensed His presence with us. I cannot think of a time, ever, that "The Lord was not there." He has always been with us in Grace Harbor. I have known His presence, power, and purpose in our midst. The more of us who are worshipping Him together, the more present we sense Him. Unity promotes His presence. When He is glorified it promotes His presence. The more focused we are on glorifying Him, the more present we sense Him. When we worship together in spirit and truth, there is power. Likewise, when there is disunity or we are not together, we struggling to sense His presence. I have felt the battle and the victory on some Sundays. We always want to be aware that when we gather, there is an individual and corporate responsibility to make sure that, more important than who is there or not there, that 'THE LORD IS THERE."

The only way we can know that for sure is to know that He is in us. If He is in each of us, then, when we gather and worship; He will be with us. He is there, when we are there in Him.

See you in Worship,
Pastor Fred
