"All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man[a] as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever." 1 Peter 1:24-25
This morning I was watching KTLA5 news. The entertainment reporter interviewed Jeff Foxworthy. This month he will be hosting a new game show called "Bible Quiz."
During the interview, they did a mini Bible quiz. The cool part was one of the female news anchors answered all the questions correctly. All of the other anchors were encouraging to go on the new show. She explained that she had spent a lot of time in Sunday school and the Youth Group all throughout high school; she was glad that she was able to remember all she had been taught.
After hearing that, I could not help thinking about all the children and young people my wife and I were able to teach about the Bible. It was such a blessing to us. And how encouraging that is as we read today’s passage of scripture which is found in 1Peter 1:24-25. Peter uses the analogy and comparison of our bodies being like grass and flowers. In due season, our bodies, as the grass and flowers will wither and die. As he teaches us, the Word of God will endure forever. It is so awesome to know as we read, study and teach the Word of God, that no matter what… it will live on forever. Be encouraged, keep pressing on, allowing the Word of God to be a daily source of power and wisdom.
Let’s make sure we join together and continue to teach the children to read and study the Word of God, teach them to draw upon it’s hope, guidance and direction.
Make time today to read the Bible. Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with all that you may need. And as always, be blessed this day in the Lord.
In Him,
Brother Rick
