Proverbs for Everyone (Part 5)

How in the world can we possibly remember all this wise counsel? We seem to learn the hard way. In order to not get stuck, we must constantly be willing to relent and to change; to be transformed, to surrender, to seek Him wholeheartedly.

  1. Be merciful. (Pro. 14:21)
  2. Diligently seek good. (Pro. 11:27)
  3. Care for your animals. (Pro. 12:10)
  4. Do not say everything you know. (Pro 13:3)
  5. Be hopeful. (Pro. 13:12)
  6. Keep the commandments. (Pro. 13:13)
  7. Be careful whom you trust. (Pro. 25:13)
  8. Do not associate with fools. (Pro. 13:20)
  9. Stay away from the willful and foolish. (Pro. 14:7)
  10. Do not be merry when others are sad. (Pro. 14:10)
Today the word sensitivity is ringing in my head, it is not harmonious with insensitivity, which is also ringing in my head. The dissonance is deafening. When those who are “hyper-sensitive” bang heads, have words, get sideways or are conflicted with those who are “insensitive”….. Look out! Trouble will spill over. When this happens we must mutually retreat to the common ground of prayer, grace and forgiveness. It is our hope. May He lead us to the cross where we find common ground. No wonder He was crucified, look how we can be; but also, glory to God, what a witness and blessing when we reconcile.
In Him,
Pastor Fred
