Proverbs for Neighbors (Part 3)

The last seven words of wisdom for neighbors packs a few wallops about our lack of neighborly closeness and sensitivity. Hope these devotionals are ringing your bell like they do mine.

  1. Do not strive with your neighbor. (Pro. 25:8)
  2. Debate privately with your neighbor. (Pro. 25:8-10)
  3. Do not keep secrets from your neighbor. ( Pro. 25:9)
  4. Do not overstay your welcome. (Pro. 25:17)
  5. Do not bear false witness against your neighbor. (Pro. 25:18)
  6. Ask a neighbor for help if your brother is far away. (Pro. 27:10)
  7. Do not flatter your neighbor (Pro. 29:5)

This section of Proverbs about neighbors certainly makes me want to speak more often to mine. We are blessed with good neighbors and so glad they are quiet like us. I think I could reach out more in my apartment complex. Have in the past and need to again. May the Lord bless your neighbors and your neighborhood. May the best of what God intended for us as neighbors happen to us and through us. The Word of God is so convicting, compelling and comforting. Let it touch your thinking, feelings and relationships.
In Him,
Pastor Fred
